ENSŌ exhibition, round table & workshops visual identity

The ENSŌ exhibition by Nataša Perković marks the first solo exhibition of product design—specifically furniture—in a museum institution in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Not only does it represent a pioneering effort in integrating this specific branch of applied art into a cultural space primarily dedicated to preserving fine art heritage, but ENSŌ is also the first major solo exhibition by a Bosnian-Herzegovinian designer in Sarajevo. It is therefore not surprising that the project, finally making visible a woman’s work in a predominantly male-dominated industry, evolved into a multi-layered, inclusive platform.

Taking initial steps toward changing established, proven patterns is always challenging. This is illustrated by the fact that the ENSŌ exhibition has been in preparation for over three years, realized with support from several partners—the Art Gallery of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Manifesto Gallery of Contemporary Art, Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Academy of Fine Arts Sarajevo, and the University of Sarajevo. The collaborative approach underpinning ENSŌ highlights the exceptional importance of solidarity in sharing knowledge, experiences, and resources, naturally evolving the exhibition into an open space for collective professional growth and contemplation of the future vision of Bosnian-Herzegovinian design and furniture industry.

Therefore, the presentation of Nataša Perković’s artistic practice is accompanied by a rich discursive and educational program. On one hand, the ENSŌ Roundtable gathers established local and international professionals, raising a clear, significant, and genuinely challenging question: What is the future of Bosnian-Herzegovinian design and furniture production? On the other hand, the ENSŌ Workshop, accompanied by a series of lectures, provides young designers and students of product design and architecture a unique opportunity not only to learn from leading professionals in the field but also to contribute through their own reflections and actions to the previously mentioned discussion.
